Our 3rd trip to Australia day 6

We got up Early on day 6 as we had a long drive ahead of us our destination Wentworth Victoria

Wentworth was popular for pokie tour bus rides from Adelaide SA prior to the legalisation of pokie machines in that state

we went for a wander round town we went and checked out the weirs

We found a monument of the TEA20 Harry Ferguson tractor for their part in the building of the massive levee banks that protected Wentworth against the devasting 1956 flood

We found a statue of a man named possum who was a homeless man who helped on farms in and around Wentworth in exchange for food he slept in trees hence his name he lived this life for some 50 years

Jim having some fun with Possum

In the afternoon we went out to Perry Sand Hills located 6 km out of Wentworth  a unique land formation 333 hectares of continuously shifting sand dunes

Its a backdrop for many films and TV shows during WW2 it was used as a bombing range

Me on top of a dune trying to find some phone reception

When the sand moves it covers up the trees

Our rental car in front of a sand dune

was a very busy day but it was great another long day tomorrow
Have a great day :)
